Road Warriors – While there’s still some gasoline left…

See, you gotta listen to 92.5 WBKR – The Country Station – to learn all the details about this thing, but here’s a quick summary: Teams will drive to a pre-designated checkpoint, where they will receive clues that will lead them on a mysterious journey to yet another checkpoint, where they will get more clues (and so on). Once each team has crossed each of the checkpoints, they’ll cross the finish line; their total mileage will then be logged by certified mile-log-oloists. The team that has a final mile total closest to the actual distance of the course will win. Sounds easy, right? It ain’t.

Teams of two to five are allowed; they must present proof of insurance and of course the driver has to have a license and proof of insurance.

What’s the payoff? A thousand damn dollars, that’s what.

It all happens Saturday, October 24; sponsors include Diamond Lake Resort and Ole South Barbeque. So listen to WBKR for more. Ready, set, go!

Fall Family Fun

It’s autumn; the air is fresh and crisp with the occasional aroma of burning leaves in the air. Time to dredge up the fall playlist (Samhain for you punk rockers; Sabbath Bloody Sabbath for you old school metalheads; and uh… I don’t know, what’s appropriate for hip-hoppers? Eric B & Rakim’s always worked for us). With the music picked out, what to do next? How about trucking down to Utica to Trunnell’s Farm Market each weekend for their ongoing Fall Family Fun Fest?

Activities include pumpkin and face painting, hayrides, straw mazes, corn hole and pumpkin toss games and much more. Trunnell’s is a great place to pick up farm-fresh wares for the kitchen too. Check out trunnellsfarmmarket.com or call 270-733-2222 for extra information.
