Allyson Funk is a bubbly five- year-old girl from Allyson has reached a
daunting pinnacle in her fight with FA. It is now absolutely necessary for her

In light of the
substantial pressure on Allyson and Liz, even the smallest gesture of kindness
gives them strength to make it through another day. While Allyson and Liz are
eons away from ever admitting defeat, the everyday grind of treatments
compounded with other common stresses of life is a taxing combination. More
importantly such a procedure incurs an expense so large it is obscene. There
will be and have been many efforts to raise money for Allyson’s intricate
operation including a concert at Taylor’s or
Allyson began the
chemotherapy and high doses of radiation on September 17th and her
bone marrow transplant took place on the 24th. She entered hospital
isolation immediately following the procedure and remain there for four to six
weeks so the medication to suppress her immune system has sufficient time to
take effect. She will not be out of the woods until 100 days after the
transplant. In this span of time her body could reject the new bone marrow.
Even after she exits the hospital she will have to live with strict guidelines
limiting her contact with other people because of her weakened immune system.
After several months she will be allowed to return to
Allyson and her mother Liz both have high
hopes for success but any type of help, any type of foothold to help them win
