Theatre Workshop of Owensboro sends shivers down your spine when they present their chilling version of The Woman in Black. This interesting show is not just your typical ghost story. The storyline will stick with you and make you think.

The play centers around a young man named Kipps and his journey to the funeral of a client. At the funeral and then later at her house, he sees a woman dressed in black. When questioned about this unusual occurrence, the locals refuse to talk about her for fear it will bring death to one of their children. The Woman in Black slowly reveals her purpose to Kipps and years later, he discovers her tragic and terrible purpose.

Reminiscent of Dickens, James, and Wharton, this is not an in-your-face horror story. Combined with the perfect setting and atmosphere and mixed with your own imagination, you can rest assure this show will terrify you to your core.

Director, Lisa Mingus-Tullis, says the technology will play a bigger role than any other production in TWO history. The sound and lighting effects are spot on and a vital part of the show. Season subscribers will enjoy these additions.

This show is “not just about goose-bumps or things that go bump in the night; it’s something deeper,” says Tulllis. “Not only is the plot very interesting, but the two actors really do a great job. Todd Reynolds and Thad Mayhew are so talented and really add to this play. It will be a joy to see there performance!”

This show is not recommended for young children – and only for those who enjoy a bone-chilling scare! Sponsored by Swedish Match, the production takes the stage on Fridays: October 24th, 31st, and November 7th at 7 p.m.; Saturdays: October 25th, November 1st and 8th also at 7 p.m.; and a Sunday matinee performance on November 2nd at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for students.
